1) please! Put an option on the trophy protection card, whether we use it or not, like an on and off button for the protection card. because like me, I will save them to reserve for the next season. for me it’s a good strategy to collect a lot of trophy protection cards.

2) please remove that backpack capacity.. because of this it discourages me from continuing to draw.. I’m disappointed with what you did to the backpack, because I was collecting rewards like energy foods but you put a capacity or limitation.. please don’t like that. or I hope you increase the backpack capacity and that the same items that are together in the same space should also only have one count in the backpack capacity, not that the same item in one space counts each other in the backpack capacity.

3) Please, let us used the game app to synthesis the gems asap because the gas fee now is too high compared to the quality of the gems.. (i accidentally click the the systhesis in gems with .8 matic) its hard to sell gems and also gems will still give a rng result

1) Thank you for your suggestion, we will update it in the next version.

2) Backpack capacity is a very common game feature. Usually there are two approaches to capacity expansion, the first is the expansion of the number of grids, and the second is the expansion of the number of props.

Specifically for DragonMaster, we have adopted the second option. The current free backpack capacity is 200, which is applicable to most players. If senior players need more backpack capacity, they can consume mDMT to increase the number of backpacks.

3) We noticed that the gas cost of polygon network has been maintaining a high level recently, which makes it more expensive for players to interact. Currently gem synthesis is based on smart contract functionality, we will consider doing it in-game to reduce the cost of synthesis for players.

Starting from next season, we will sell a small amount of limited items, such as special dragon NFT, dragon skin NFT, etc.

The revenue from this part of the sales will be used to buy back and burn TOTEM and DMT.

Any plans about different gameplay?

I’ve been playing for seasons already and the game becomes more and more boring as the days goes by it was not fun like it was used to anymore. Any plan on making a different gameplay?

That’s a good question.

This week we’re working internally on a new play mode that seems more interesting, and when we’ve optimized the details of the feature, we’ll invite some players to experience it in a test mode!

The test mode is expected to open this month.

Waiting for new invite event (#4)

In order to create a better experience for new players, we are planning to upgrade our new player invitation campaign with a new mechanism, which may be presented in the form of a ‘guild’.

New players will need some kind of guild-like organization, and we will offer great rewards to the managers of these excellent organizations.

This is also a way to prepare for our next ‘Tribal War’. We plan to start this scheme at the beginning of the next season.

Yes, we have plans to incentivize creators.

In the future, DragonMaster 2.0 will support players to set custom NFT avatars, emojis and other features, and open up the creator trading market, so that players can freely spend and choose their favorite items.

Ok I will address many things this time, and it is a good time to do so amidst all the turmoil happening in crypto right now.

Let’s start off with the less serious stuff.

Tournament feedback/suggestions

I understand you guys wanted to host a massive tournament with as many players as possible. Hence the long registration period and huge number of slots. This is very respectable and commendable. Big tournaments will be good for the game. However, there is a lot of room for improvement for how the tournament has been handled so far.

1. Single elimination may not be the best format for a tournament with so many players. There are some issues here. There are no seeds in this tournament which means good players could be eliminated early due to rng, while some players can get a free ticket if they keep facing players who do not show up. Swiss format is a much better way for such a large field in my opinion. Multiples group is another way but requires more resources to manage the groups.

2. 4 days for 1 round is way too long. You may think that this gives adequate time for people to play their match. What it really does is it deters players from continuing in the 2nd round and onwards. Players might forget that there is a tournament, or may lose interest. This is exacerbated by the extremely long registration period (which was extended as well) and we can clearly see now how many registered did not show up. This is also made worse because the tournament was free entry. Free entry is good but other issues need to be fixed. There was no need for registration to be so long and absolutely no need for 4 days for 1 round and another 3 days break between round 1 and 2. At the end of the day will a tournament like this take 1 month to run? For your info I ran a 20+ player 5 round swiss tournament with top 4 knockout stages within 3 hours 2 months ago. Some players did not show up or left halfway but that did not slow the flow at all. Yes 20+ players is much easier to handle than 200+ but you don’t need 1 week for 1 round for 10x the amount of players when I could do 7 rounds in 3 hours, especially if the pairings were handled by communitygaming website.

In the first round of the tournament, we did notice some no-shows of registered players, and we wanted to try to avoid a massive bye, so we made a 3-day adjustment period, during which we tried to contact registered players by all means.
When we realized that this was already the case, we made the following adjustments (also mentioned in yesterday’s announcement).

1. All competitors must join Discord.
2. Reduce the tournament time, you’re right, to avoid people forgetting about it.
3. Less bye before the top 16, so that each player can be matched with an opponent.
4. We will take suggestions from players during the tournament.

Additionally, our team is discussing bringing the tournament system in-game, the requirements are still being evaluated and we want to bring a better tournament experience to our players.

Moreover, we allow our partner guilds to hold their own tournaments, so if a guild wants to hold a tournament, please contact @wilson and we will provide prizes, game props or other support depending on the tournament proposal.

Season 7 Feedback

This is the first season where players can get unlimited energy by spending Totem on energy or doing treasure hunt. Based on the current trophy system where players can get as high trophies as they want (basically its not a MMR system but more like an experience points system), this make it such that winning the season is not based on team composition or skill anymore. It is simply based on who has more totem to spend.

I don’t know whether you guys thought this through before implementation. Anyone with a brain knows such a system is unfun and turns people off. Are you guys this short sighted with the totem burn mechanism that you are ready to sacrifice the fun and competitiveness of the game? Literally the only two things left that is keeping the game alive?

What’s even worse is the top 2 players are just fighting against bots. So Season 7 is basically a PVE leaderboard which rewards the biggest wallet. 👏

And seriously, do you think props that increase trophy gain or protect trophy is even a good idea? What are you guys trying to turn the game into? We were making good progress with the esports aspect of the game (without this competitiveness THIS GAME IS DEAD as it is now) You guys are getting rid of the esports aspect from the base game itself. Are you guys commiting suicide? I’m sorry I may sound harsh but I am saying the harsh and cold truth. Maybe the founder of Magic Hat Studio is Sam Bankman-Fried hence the founder cannot be doxxed? 🤣

Keep doing this, you will see 0 dragon sales in the marketplace in last 24 hours. We are almost there already. Just 1 sale in the last 24 hours. 🤡

If you want to make the game pay 2 win, this is not the way to do it. Axie is pay to win, do you see 10000 mmr gap at the top? The competitiveness in Axie is very real to the final day of the season. It used to be with Dragon Master as well, until you guys destroyed it.

Paying for energy is fine, but then we need to fix the ranking system. Make it a proper MMR system. And remove bots after 15000 MMR like in the old days. It’s ridiculous that halfway in the season the top guys are still fighting bots. Just let them match with lower MMR as a consequence of rushing so high in the MMR. If the higher ranked player loses, let him lose a lot of MMR like in a proper MMR system!! That’s why we have the number 1 and number 2 with no special dragon and 90% win rate being 10000 trophies higher than special dragon with 95% win rate. Look at the number 4!! 81% win rate 😂

Please. I’m sure a game studio knows to make a game better you improve the gameplay. Make it more exciting, more interesting, more replayable, less boring, less grindy. You guys have done nothing of this sort in the last 6 months besides the friendly challenge (and stuff like angel dragon and in game props which are debatable at best) Design a proper crafting system that encourages players to spend! Give people choices and a chance to be creative with their teams! Actually improve the game! Make the dragons more interesting. Even giving huge buffs to existing dragons would be a start! What’s stopping you from making prickly dragon 100% trigger? Give people a chance to try it! So many dragons are completely useless for 8 months already. Can you imagine the meta is the same now as the time when Pegas were worth $1000? 😂

We’ve also noticed that the trophy gap in S7 has gotten bigger, and we’d like to share the dev team’s thoughts on that.

In theory, it’s possible to have a similar leaderboard trophy count when all players have the same amount of energy, and we understand the scenario you’ve described. The last day will be fun, with everyone in close proximity to each other, vying for the top spot!

In reality, even though all players have the same amount of energy, there is no guarantee that they will use all of it to fight each day. In the end, the time spent becomes a factor in the difference between the number of trophies on the leaderboard, and it is a microcosm of the ‘Experience System’.

The old energy system also has this problem, different numbers of dragons get different amounts of energy per day, here a difference has been formed, holding more number of dragons obviously gain an advantage. Secondly, the mechanism of restoring 1 point of energy per hour, this is a difference in time, the player who pays more time obviously gains an advantage.

If it is almost impossible to achieve a perfectly fair number of trophies, the difference in player time advantage is an inevitable influencing factor. Taking a step back and putting aside the time difference, to achieve a perfect trophy count fairness, then the richness and diversity of the game system needs to be sacrificed to complete. In short, all future features and systems of the game cannot involve changes in the amount of energy, including the inability to buy extra energy and the inability to develop props that involve energy…

On the other hand, let’s talk about the ways of traditional games. They are not Web 3.0 games and they don’t have token rewards for leaderboards, but they do have leaderboard features. Whether it’s Clash Royale, DOTA, or League of Legends, they don’t limit the number of battles and time players can play. Of course, players with good hero decks, plenty of game time, good game strategy, and the ability to pay for rare items will inevitably result in a top position on the leaderboard.

We can’t only focus on the fairness brought by the hero cards, but also the time cost, payment cost and other factors need to be taken into account. This is also in line with the logic of survival in the real world.

Of course, too big a trophy gap is a bad sign, we should consider it carefully and improve it!

Who/What the hell is Magic Hat Studio??

It has been over a year since the creation of this discord channel. Investors started coming in almost a year ago and we are already in season 7 of Dragon Master. It has been a long journey and the game, as well as the crypto market, have gone through many ups and downs. We have seen players and guilds come and leave (more leaving than coming unfortunately). We have witnessed TOTEM and DMT dropped over 90% from all time highs through these tough times. There are many many other developments that have occured throughout the past year. And as much as how horrible this game is now, I am honestly still extremely grateful that the game is still around with players, unlike many other games which crumbled at some point in this bear market.

However, after ALL these, we, investors, players, scholars and guilds, still do not know who/what Magic Hat Studio is?

This week has been tough for a lot of people in crypto, and the crypto industry in general. FTX, formerly the 2nd largest crypto exchange, and thought to be one of the strongest establishments in all of crypto, with many positive impressions from users around the world, became nothing within a matter of days. Behind the glorious facade that FTX has been building in the past months and years were shady practices that would scare all investors and users away if they were exposed. And that happened this week and possibly millions of innocent people were hurt. This is what happens when there is no transparency; Malicious people can conceal themselves and engage in whatever activities they like, without consequences.

Therefore, the same can be applied for Magic Hat Studio and Dragon Master. This week is the perfect time to address this, as it is the perfect reminder that you cannot trust anyone who isn’t open and transparent. After a year of launching the studio, why does the public still not know who the founder is? who the top management is? This is not 2021 anymore. People are well aware of different kinds of rugpulls, including slow rugs. People have seen projects that lasted for months just shut down because of whatever reasons, and the founders do not suffer consequences because nobody knows who the hell they are!

What is there to hide ? What kind of company cannot reveal the founder’s identity to its investors and users? An illegal company? A fake company? A company that engages in criminal activities? A company that is ashamed to reveal itself? A company that employs child labor? A company that abuses its staff? A company run by a person wanted by the FBI?

Just look at how many scary things can come out of a business that nobody knows about. How do we really know that Magic Hat is established in the UK? How do we really know that Magic Hat actually does not have a permanent development team and instead hires workers on Fiverr to do development and design work? How do we really know that Magic Hat actually still has funds to continue development when it makes less than $100 a month on marketplace fees? How do we really know that Magic Hat really received hundreds of millions of funding from seed investors when none of this info can be found online??

ALL OF THESE CAN BE ADDRESSED, AND IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED NOW.

No more lame excuses, if you have nothing to hide, show yourself and be proud of the game you have created so far.

Show the world that Dragon Master is ready to make a big come back and thrive for the next decade. Let the world HEAR the wise words of Magic Hat Studio’s founders and leaders.

We have answered some questions about the team information in question 6, we have our own internal reasons why we have not been disclosing it, and we have promised that it is temporary and we will take the initiative to disclose it at the right time, at this point, we hope the community will understand us.

The world is a big place and there are many things we can’t decide, just as SBF mocked why CZ didn’t come to DC.
