DragonMaster Multi-Chain Whitepaper
Preface
The biggest innovation of Web3.0 games compared to traditional games is that game assets are owned by users, and game developers cannot intervene or control them, redefining the rules of the game and user rights in the new era, being open, transparent, and traceable on the blockchain.
Web3.0 games need to be developed and run on a blockchain network. Users’ game assets will be managed based on one blockchain network, such as obtaining, trading, transferring, breeding, purchasing, and other on-chain behaviors.
As Web3.0 games develop, game developers are no longer satisfied with developing games based on a single blockchain network. They will expand to more blockchain networks and actively approach more encrypted users, known as a multi-chain plan.
Developing a multi-chain plan is not necessary for all Web3.0 games, but it is necessary for every Web3.0 game that wants to move towards a more ambitious future. DragonMaster is one of them.
I.Designing Philosophy
After studying the development history of games, it was discovered that there are two behavioral patterns that are similar to the upcoming implementation of the multi-chain plan.
The first pattern is the multi-server mode of client games or web games; and the second one is the multi-device mode that originated from hardware.
There is an essential difference behind these two models, and also two completely different design philosophies.
The multi-server mode.
Game developers often set up new servers to attract new players and revitalize game revenue. Although the gameplay remains the same, the economic data will reset and operate independently, and players on the new server cannot interact with those on the original server.
The multi-device mode
Game developers spare no expense to develop suitable game carriers based on different hardware devices or user scenarios, in order to enable more users to conveniently experience the game. They aim to share game economic data, allowing for interaction and communication among players across different devices and platforms.
In conclusion: multi-server mode is based on resetting the game economic model to attract more new users. multi-device mode is based on expanding user scenarios to attract more new users.
When developing multi-chains, it is important to understand the original design intent and the final goals. Through market research, we have found that many Web3 games choose the “multi-server mode”, where each new blockchain network is a new server, and players on two different chains cannot interact and communicate, running independently. We are also thinking, is this the right approach? What happens when all the blockchain networks are used up?
Of course, all Web3 game development teams are exploring, and there is no certain answer yet. Our team has been thinking about the multi-chain plan for a long time, and all members of Magic Hat Studio participated in the major milestones and decision-making, expressing their opinions and views. It is worth noting that the team unanimously believes that the “multi-device mode” is more suitable for DragonMaster.
Now, we are introducing the changes that the multi-chain design brings to DragonMaster, as well as the reasons for choosing the “multi-device mode”.
II. Game
Based on the design philosophy, it’s easy to understand the relationship between the DragonMaster game and blockchain network: sharing economic model and cross-chain communication.
Joining the game
Players can join the DragonMaster game through any blockchain network and play with players from all blockchain networks, participating in teaming up, competitions, chatting, etc.
Asset Mapping
Players who own encryption assets from multi-blockchain networks will have all their assets mapped to the DragonMaster game. In the game, players can mix and use these encryption assets, such as using a Polygon dragon NFT and a Meter dragon NFT in a dragon team.
In DragonMaster, encryption assets from different blockchain networks should have the same rights and benefits.
principles to follow:
The game is a carrier, and does not intervene or control players’ encryption assets.
The game is fair, and protects players’ rights and benefits to encryption assets from being affected by time cycles, market price fluctuations, or the blockchain network in which they are located.
Withdrawal and Deposit
The “Bridge” of the Game
Tokens from different blockchain networks cannot be interacted with each other, so they need to be connected through smart contracts to become a mutual carrier. Of course, this is complex, and this “bridge” mostly only supports commonly used or popular tokens, and it is difficult to support all tokens.
After the release of the multi-chain, is there any other way to support the circulation and conversion of DragonMaster tokens (TOTEM, DMT) on different blockchain networks? According to the design philosophy, the economic data of all blockchain networks is shared and can be accessed, so the game will become a natural “bridge”, carrying the circulation of tokens (TOTEM, DMT) from different blockchain networks.
Withdrawal
Players can withdraw TOTEM or DMT from the game to the blockchain network and can choose the multi-chain network supported by DragonMaster, such as Polygon, Meter, etc.
Deposit
Players can choose to deposit TOTEM or DMT from the blockchain network supported by DragonMaster to the game for repairing the dragon’s durability, participating in treasure hunting, or directly withdrawing to other blockchain networks. For example, depositing 100 TOTEM from Polygon to the game and then withdrawing 100 TOTEM from the game through Meter.
Economic System
According to the design philosophy, new blockchain networks bring new players, and we should not create a new economic system separately for them. They are no different from players from other blockchain networks and are still DragonMaster’s players. They have the same rights and benefits in terms of encryption assets. Therefore, players from all blockchain networks will share the following economic systems:
Incentive System
1.Seasonal Ranking Rewards
2.Farming
3.Treasure hunting ranking rewards
Note: DragonMaster has the right to dynamically adjust the reward quantity of the incentive system based on the number of players and market factors to better meet the development of the game and the community.
Burn System
1.Repair dragon durability
2.Treasure hunting: paid lottery
3.End of battle: flip cards
4.Send email handling fee
5.Auction handling fee
6.Rental handling fee
Note: DragonMaster has the right to dynamically adjust the economic data of the burn system based on the number of players and market factors to better meet the development of the game and the community.
Function System
Rental System
Lessor: Publish leasing dragon NFT and keep the same blockchain network. (In the future, after the hosted wallet is launched, the dragon NFT from different blockchain networks will be supported.)
Lessee: Can lease leasing contracts published by all blockchain networks.
Auction System
Share auction function.
Email System
1.Share all game items.
2.Supports sending to all players.
Match System
All blockchain network players participate in the ELO ranking rules together.
III. TOKEN
DMT:
Introduction
DMT (Dragon Master Token) is a native governance token issued by Dragon Master based on the Ethereum network (ERC-20) with a maximum total supply of 1 billion. DMT will be utilized in all Dragon Master ecosystem products for burning, usage, and staking, to unlock various functionalities and privileges.
Multi-Chain Design
When Dragon Master was founded, we already considered the plan to develop multi-chains in the future. Therefore, in order to be compatible with more blockchain networks, and to better control the total amount of all blockchain networks. The chosen solution is generating DMT on the Ethereum mainnet and then cross-chain to the Layer2 networks. The DMT on Layer2 is part of the circulation supply, and its amount will totally depends on the amount of bridging.
Advantages of this plan:
1.This plan ensures that DMT will not be over-issued, and the sum of the maximum circulation of all blockchain networks remains 1 billion;
2.It also ensures that DMT on all blockchain networks is interoperable rather than independent, by supporting EVM networks to use smart contracts for cross-chain transactions, while non-EVM networks use the “bridge” of the game to cross-blockchain.
TOTEM
Introduction
TOTEM is the game token of Dragon Master, with no total supply limit. Players can obtain TOTEM by winning in the game’s PVP arena. Once obtained, players can use TOTEM to repair the durability of dragons, participate in treasure hunting, pay for breeding, and sync them to their wallet.
Multi-Chain Design
For each blockchain network, TOTEM will be independently created using standard token protocols, with no total supply limit. It doesn’t require smart contract cross-chain transactions, but rather will be interoperable through the “bridge” of the game as a solution.
Through market research, we found that some games’ multi-chain design adopts a “multi-server mode”, which means that economic data is independent, but it causes many unnecessary troubles and problems.
For example, the market value of the same TOKEN is different on different blockchain networks.
This will lead to continuous problems where centralized exchanges cannot support all the multi-chain network TOKENs of these games, and can only support one blockchain network. Otherwise, it will cause irreversible damage to the game’s economic data.
In addition, when listing the same TOKEN of these games’ multi-chain networks on centralized exchanges, the same name cannot be used because their values are different. Only TOKEN 1, TOKEN 2, etc. can be used to represent them, which is an unreasonable design.
DragonMaster’s multi-chain design adopts a “multi-device mode,” which means that economic data is interoperable, and DMT and TOTEM have the same market value on different blockchain networks. This will solve the above-mentioned problems very well. Regardless of whether DMT and TOTEM are seen on DEX or CEX, players can trust and own them. This is the most important milestone of DragonMaster to move towards a more long-term future and become a great goal of popular Web3 games worldwide.
IV.NFT
According to the design philosophy, the encrypted assets in different blockchain networks of DragonMaster should have the same rights and benefits. Therefore:
Players who own dragon NFTs on any blockchain network can participate in the game. NFTs will be mapped to the game, and players can mix and match and use these NFTs in the game.
For NFTs with the same attributes on different blockchain networks, their market values are very close.
In the future, DragonMaster will support all of its NFTs to be cross-chain on any blockchain network.
In the end
DragonMaster has been online for one year, and we still adhere to the original design of the game, not pursuing short-term economic benefits, but striving to build blockchain infrastructure, solving problems and creating value from a user perspective. This is also where the value of Magic Hat Studio lies. In the future, we believe that we will have more peers to work together to make the community and ecosystem even better.
